Christmas Celebration by ICYM Hospet Unit

Hospet: December 24, 2025: On the auspicious occasion of Christmas Eve, the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Hospet Unit joyfully celebrated Christmas along with the parishioners of Hospet Parish.

The celebration was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr. Gregory Dsouza, Parish Priest, along with Rev. Fr. Roshan Pinto and Rev. Fr. Dony Cardoza. Manohar Cutinha, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, Vincent Santhmayor, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, Selwin Jude Colaco and Denis Fernandes, Animators of the ICYM Hospet Unit, Rolston Fleming Dsouza, President of the ICYM Hospet unit, and Mishel Joylin Tauro, Secretary of the ICYM Hospet Unit were also present in the celebration.

The programme began with a cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the joy and unity of the Christmas season. This was followed by a dance performance by the ICYM members, which was warmly appreciated by the gathering. Subsequently, the traditional ‘FesthasoDukor’ American Auctionheld by ICYM Hospet unit was conducted by Manohar Cutinha. Parishioners enthusiastically participated in the auction, making it a lively and engaging part of the celebration.

As part of the Christmas preparations, the ICYM Hospet Unit organized several meaningful activities:

ICYM members went door-to-door singing Christmas carols across the parish, spreading the joy, peace, and message of Christmas.
On 20th and 21st December, a ‘Kuswar Bazar’ (Kuswar Sale) was organized after the Holy Mass, which was well received and benefited the parishioners.
A Christmas Crib and Star were prepared by the ICYM members in the church premises. Additionally, a Crib Competition was organized for the parishioners, encouraging creativity and participation.
On 25th December morning, ICYM members visited the elderly and sick, distributed kuswar, and spent quality time with them, sharing love and Christmas cheer.
In the afternoon, the ‘Christmas Trophy – 2025’ Cricket Tournament was organized for the parishioners, promoting fellowship and sportsmanship.

Through these activities, the ICYM Hospet Unit successfully fostered a spirit of joy, unity, service, and community, making the Christmas celebrations truly meaningful for the entire parish.
