The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), Hospet Unit, successfully organized “Nakli Nesna Spardho” and “Reel Spardho”, an online photo and reel fancy dress competition on Saints, for the children of Hospet Parish. The initiative was conducted with the aim of nurturing faith, creativity, and confidence among children, while helping them learn about the lives and teachings of Saints in an interesting and engaging way.
The competition was thoughtfully divided into three age-based categories to ensure meaningful and age-appropriate participation:
0–5 years: Photo Competition
1st to 3rd Standard: Reel Competition
4th to 7th Standard: Reel Competition
Children were encouraged to dress up as Saints, reflecting their admiration and understanding of the Saint’s life. In the photo competition, the youngest participants showcased their saint-inspired costumes through photographs with the support and guidance of their parents.
For the reel competition, children creatively portrayed a chosen Saint by dressing appropriately, giving a brief introduction to the Saint’s life, and sharing a meaningful message inspired by the Saint’s values and teachings. The reels beautifully reflected Christian virtues such as love, humility, service, faith, and sacrifice, along with the children’s confidence and creativity.
The competition received an enthusiastic response from both children and parents of the parish. It served as a wonderful platform for young participants to express their talents while deepening their spiritual understanding. The event successfully combined learning with creativity and helped inculcate strong moral and spiritual values among the children.
