Ruby Jubilee of Ordination Celebrated in Honour of Fr. Gregory D’Souza 

Hospet, May 10, 2026: The parish community of Holy Cross Church, Hospet, celebrated the Ruby Jubilee of Ordination of its Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Gregory D’Souza, on Sunday, May 10, 2026. Fr. Gregory D’Souza was ordained to the priesthood on April 29, 1986, completing 40 years of dedicated priestly ministry.

The celebration was organised by the Parish Committee, with the Finance Committee taking the lead in coordinating the programme. The occasion brought together parishioners, association representatives, ward leaders and members of Fr. Gregory’s family.

The celebrations commenced with the Holy Eucharist, offering the parish community an opportunity to give thanks to God for Fr. Gregory’s priestly vocation and years of service to the Church and the parish.

Following the Eucharistic celebration, a short felicitation programme was held. A memento and Letter of Honour were presented to Fr. Gregory D’Souza as a token of appreciation and gratitude for his dedicated pastoral service. Representatives of various parish associations and wards, along with parishioners, felicitated and congratulated the priest on the significant milestone.

The parish community acknowledged and appreciated Fr. Gregory’s commitment and service to the spiritual and pastoral life of the parish. His family members also joined the parish community in marking the special occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr. Gregory D’Souza expressed his gratitude to the parish community, sharing his happiness at being given the privilege of serving the people of God. He expressed that he felt privileged and happy to continue his priestly ministry and service among the parish community.

The celebration concluded with a fellowship breakfast served to the entire parish community, providing an opportunity for parishioners to come together and share in the joy of the jubilee celebration.

The Ruby Jubilee served as a meaningful occasion for the parish community to celebrate, appreciate and acknowledge 40 years of Fr. Gregory D’Souza’s priestly vocation and service, while expressing gratitude for his continued presence and pastoral ministry.
